You know the usual story. First you model the content in a headless CMS. Then you build the real site in Svelte and wire it up with the CMS. So far so good. Then the client enters the room. And you explain them "Preview mode" and why it looks slightly different than the real site. And why the site sometimes takes so long to update. Until you meet them the next time half a year later, when they forgot everything you told them.
No longer. In Editable your Svelte components are both the public website and the editing canvas. You set the structure, the client writes the content. Because you set the rules, the client doesn't have to worry about breaking the design while editing.

For designers
Imagine you alone could launch websites for your clients. Most of the time. Until you need a special layout or an interactive component. Only then you bring in a Svelte developer.
Simply copy and paste a graphic from Figma onto a media placeholder to see how it fits on the page. On save, the image gets processed and optimized. Same goes for videos. Or try out that other typeface live while you are sitting together with your client.
Now the bad news. Getting started requires running a few commands in the terminal. To change typefaces and colors, you need to change a few lines of CSS code. You can do this!

It doesn't matter if you are in one of the groups above. Those are just examples. Editable really just gives you a carefully crafted framework to exhibit your work, your hobby, or anything else you'd like to showcase.
However, if you're planning to build a one-off landing page with a lot of custom animation and interactivity, which is meant to replaced entirely in a year or two anyways, Editable is probably not for you. Not this time. :)
